We all love beach days, don't we? The warm sand, salty air, rhythmic aqua waves crashing onto the shoreline, sun shining through fluffy clouds, building sandcastles with the kids, collecting seashells and other treasures that wash ashore, and relaxing under an umbrella, just to name a few. Now when you visit Sunshine Children's Dentistry, our new mural will feel almost like a trip to the beach!

ABOUT THE PAINTING: Dr. Fry and our staff had envisioned a beach themed mural within Sunshine Children's Dentistry. And now it is here for us to enjoy! Our new mural can be found in our large dental patient room. It spans our back wall - 25ft x 10ft. This huge piece of art was designed and painted by Angela Kelly, a local artist who lives here in Wilmington. For this mural, she teamed up with Dr. Fry to create a beach scene that felt FUN and relaxing for both children and adults.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Angela Kelly has been an avid painter and graphic designer since a young age, working on both small canvases and large murals, as well as digital designs. Some of her large public pieces can be found around Wilmington, including a sculpture in the Burney Center at UNCW, a mural in the ROTC wing of Ashley High School, and a mural in the AHS Rifle Range. She is passionate about all things creative.
AN INTERVIEW WITH THE ARTIST: "It was an honor to get to paint this beach mural for Dr. Fry, Dr. Bradley, and the whole Sunshine team. I had a blast working on each and every aspect of the painting. I wanted to put a high level of detail into all parts of the mural, something that would carry your eye throughout the entire scene and allow you to imagine a storyline and almost feel the salt air blowing. The morning sun in the sky was an important addition, since the painting was for the Sunshine team. I also wanted to include families, since this dentist office provides such a family-like environment. I hope the patients will really enjoy it!"
