Many big and exciting changes have taken place during the winter of 2021/2022. One of which is the retirement of Dr. Douglas Fry. Read about Dr. Fry below, as well as a spotlight on our other two beloved dentists: Dr. Robert Point and Dr. Lise Bradley.
RETIREMENT OF DR. DOUGLAS FRY:
After over 5 decades of dental service, Dr. Douglas Fry, one of Wilmington’s original pediatric dentists, is embarking on a new chapter - his retirement. The entire community has benefited from Dr. Fry’s devotion to the families of this region and caring for the smiles of their children. Sunshine Children’s Dentistry was established by Dr. Fry, and over the years it has grown into one of the most respected pediatric dentistries of New Hanover County. Sunshine Children’s Dentistry has an incredible Sunshine Team, including our office staff, dental assistants, and spectacular dentists Dr. Lise Bradley and Dr. Robert Point.
Playfully referred to as “Dr. French Fry” by our young patients, Dr. Douglas Fry practiced dentistry for over 50 years, with over 30 years in pediatric dentistry, caring for all types of dental needs. After several years of work in general dentistry, Dr. Fry discovered that his real interest was in caring for children. Dr. Fry believes that a child's smile could be their greatest social asset. Each of us will cherish the passion and dedication of Dr. Fry and all he has done for the families of the Wilmington region. It is with a joy filled heart that we congratulate Dr. Fry and wish him the very best during his retirement. Please join us in wishing Dr. Fry a happy retirement!

GET TO KNOW DR. ROBERT POINT:
Dr. Robert Point, lovingly referred to as “Dr. Rob” by our young patients, is passionate about serving the patients at Sunshine Children’s Dentistry. Dr. Rob’s favorite part of working at this office is the strong team dynamic and the sense of pride the team shares in giving quality dental care in a fun setting to amazing patients. As a father to two young children, he provides the same gentle care for each patient as he would towards his own little ones.
Even at a young age, Dr. Rob knew he wanted to study medicine and felt called to dentistry. Dr. Rob received his DDS from West Virginia University School of Dental Medicine (Morgantown, WV) and attended his pediatric dentistry residency at University of Toledo Medical Center (Toledo, OH). He is a member of the ADA (American Dental Association) and member of the NC Dental Society. He provides the full scope of pediatric dental services at Sunshine Children’s Dentistry, and he treats under general anesthesia at New Hanover Regional Medical Center hospital.
Dr. Rob was born and raised in Wilmington, NC and is excited to finally have come full circle to return to his hometown. He loves spending time with his wife, Ashley, and their 2 daughters. When not at work, Dr. Rob enjoys doing anything outdoors and on the water including fishing, sailing, kite boarding, and kayaking.
GET TO KNOW DR. LISE BRADLEY:
Passionate about serving children and giving them bright healthy smiles, Dr. Lise Bradley is a wonderful member of the Sunshine Team. With decades of experience, she is able to provide all types of routine pediatric dental care for our patients.
During her youth, Dr. Bradley had a dream of practicing as a pediatric dentist. She is originally from Albany, NY. She attended dental school at the University of Missouri Kansas City. Currently, the beautiful city of Wilmington, NC has been home for her for the last decade.
Dr. Bradley has two adult children. Her son is a chef in Wilmington, NC. Her daughter works in finance in Denver, CO. During her spare time, Dr. Bradley serves on the Board of the Wilmington Arboretum. She enjoys gardening, cooking, swimming, and biking. Dr. Bradley is excited to serve you and your family at Sunshine Children's Dentistry.
