HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN SMILE-FRIENDLY EASTER BASKETS:

Children at Easter with Dental Friendly Easter Basket

Easter is such a fun time for families! But it doesn't have to be a reason to put your child's smile at risk for dental decay. Have your "Easter Bunny" stuff your child's basket with activities and healthy snacks, rather than all candy. Here are ideas for assembling a "Smile-Friendly Easter Basket".

  1. GAMES & PUZZLES - Encourage family play time, as well as independent play.

  2. ARTS & CRAFTS - Paint, string, modeling clay, jewelry making supplies, popsicle sticks.

  3. COLORING & ACTIVITY BOOKS - Pair it with a new set of crayons or colored pencils. Feeling sentimental? Allow all the family members to color some pages, sign and date it - so that years from now, it will be a cherished family memento.

  4. STORY BOOKS - Spark their imagination and encourage your child's love for reading by including age appropriate books. Search & Find type books can keep kids entertained for a while, too!

  5. JOURNAL & A NEW PEN - Children can record their thoughts, memories, and sketches.

  6. NOVELTY ORAL CARE ITEMS: Toothbrush, Yummy Toothpaste, & a fun Mouthwash - Nowadays, there are so many kid-friendly options. Spark interest in their own oral health with a toothbrush themed in their favorite characters or colors, and some flavors to make it enjoyable. And don't forget the floss!

  7. HEALTHY SNACKS - Berries, dried fruits, and nuts are delicious alternatives to candy!

  8. A FRAMED PHOTO - Frame a picture of an event that was important to your child.

  9. LIP BALM - Keep those lips moisturized! Many options even have SPF protection.

  10. NEW ACCESSORIES - Socks, hair bows, a hair brush, hats, and sunglasses.

  11. SPECIAL TOYS - A small stuffed animal, cars, dolls, and outdoor play items are fun!
