Sunshine Children's Dentistry is proud to be teaming up with a charity that is near and dear to our hearts - the Willie Stargell Foundation. Battling kidney disease can be long, difficult, and expensive. Patients don’t have to face it alone. The Willie Stargell Foundation supports kidney disease research and patient care. We are participating with this year's event.

CHARITY EVENT: Sunshine Children's Dentistry is proud to be a sponsor for the 16th annual Willie Stargell Celebrity Invitational. Each year the event is held in Wilmington, NC at The Country Club of Landfall. This year's charity event takes place on November 9-11. This exciting and popular event brings together celebrities and the public for a weekend of fun and golf while supporting the fight against kidney disease.
By raising funds from generous public and private donations and hosting a yearly celebrity invitational, the Foundation seeks to ease the financial burden of ever-increasing medical costs patients suffering from kidney disease face.
THE WILLIE STARGELL STORY: Known for his monstrous home runs, Willie “Pops” Stargell crushed 475 career home runs during his 21 baseball career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, whom he helped capture two World Series titles. Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988, he was an athlete, a gentleman, and a star on and off the field. After Willie Stargell passed away in 2001 from renal failure, his widow, Margaret Weller-Stargell, wanted to make his dream of helping other dialysis patients come true.
